An Open Letter to the Rancho Murieta Community

This is Carol Anderson Ward, I represent Rancho Murieta Properties in Building a Better Rancho Murieta.

I have lived and worked in Rancho Murieta since 1978. As many of you know, I raised my children in our beloved community.  I will always have a presence in Rancho Murieta no matter where my interests take me.

In 2012, a few investors and I purchased the Operating Engineers Pension Trust Fund PLANNED development properties, consisting of 1,200 undeveloped lots, 2 golf courses, and the Country Club.

“In many ways we are aligned with and frankly ahead of SOLOS in saving open space and water.”

First, by reducing our lot numbers by 400 homes from the 1,200 we purchased. Finding a balance between 1,200 lots and the correct 800 lot number was a challenging task.  As of now, we have 697 lots to develop.

Second, we have determined that much of our property on the backside of the lakes, valued in excess of $10 million, should remain open space to be preserved in its natural state protecting the habitat for trees, wildlife, and for our community.

Third, in 2014, a Finance and Service Agreement was created with Rancho Murieta Community Services District and developers.  The developers contributed 2/3 of the construction cost, of which Rancho Murieta Properties contributed, in excess of $5 million, to build the water treatment plant, for the then-current, and now-future development.

Fourth, we stand by the October 2024 Integrated Master Plan draft certified by Adkins Engineering & Surveying which states clearly that there is water for Rancho Murieta and provides a roadmap for the district to follow. I have worked with the Community Services District to drill test wells on my personal agriculture property to augment the water supply.

Developing these lots will bring in revenue to resolve the Country Club’s financial problems, protect our current and future quality of life and our home values, as well as keep our community businesses healthy.

It is a shared community belief that we need a club that is more than golf, we need a pool, exercise facilities, daycare, natural trails, and a gathering place for family and friends.  The way to get this done is by bringing in additional capital and by working together as a community for its best results.

Thank you for your interest.  Looking forward to working with you.
